Vincent Van Gogh Coffee Mug

The Vincent Van Gogh coffee mug pays tribute to the creative mind of the famous 19th century artist.  When asked what the benefits and downsides of normality were, Van Gogh started an analogy that veered into a rant about the ineffective infrastructure planning of his local municipal government.  The people listening were disappointed he didn’t come up with a better analogy.

“Normality is like a paved road. It’s comfortable to walk on, but has potholes because the city contracts out work to the lowest bidder”

-Vincent Van Gogh

The Life of Van Gogh

The famous Vincent Van Gogh was born in the mid 19th century to a well to do family in the Netherlands.  From an early age he demonstrated signs of a creative mind.  Although he tried out other vocations such as the ministry, he eventually turned to art as a way to express his deepest feelings.

He spent several decades creating oil paintings, but struggled with recognition during his lifetime.  Then, after his unfortunately passing, the greater populace discovered his art, after which he became one of the most well-known artists of all time.
